EPCC’s Concert Tour in 2024 in USA

The mission of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir is to engage, educate, and enrich our community through high-quality musical performances, with a special focus on the work of Estonian composers and introducing their output to the world. Each season the EPCC gives about 40–60 concerts both in Estonia and abroad. In the last decade, Tõnu Kaljuste and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir have been touring together in USA in every 2-3 years: in 2018, 2015 and 2014. They have represented the Republic of Estonia in official delegations (in 2018 a concert tour in the US as part of the official programme celebrating the centennial of the Republic of Estonia) and been promoting Estonian culture and composers in many concert halls all over the USA. Most notable among these concert stages in USA are the Carnegie Hall in New York and the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. This will be the first USA concert tour since 2018. This year marks the 150th anniversary of composer Rudolf Tobias. Tobias was a world renowned composer, one of the leading figures in the emergence and development of Estonian national music culture, whose birthyear we celebrate this autumn with a performance and recording of the original score of the oratorio “Jonah” in Estonian. Based on the Estonian version, maestro Tõnu Kaljuste has chosen recognized Estonian musicians and soloists for the performance line up: Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir (extended line up), Tallinn Chamber Orchestra (extended line up), “Ellerhein” Girls’ Choir, soloists Taavi Tampuu, Mirjam Mesak, Kai Rüütel, Mati Turi, Raiko Raalik, organist Kadri Toomoja. Lineup of Chorus mysticus: Maria Listra, Kadri Tegelmann, Endrik Üksvärav, Tamar Nugis. Support the release of a new album!
