MUSIC RECORDINGS AND NEW RELEASES
As a sequel to the celebrated cycles “Moorland Elegies” (2015) and “Sei la luce e il mattino” (2019) for choir and orchestra composed by Tõnu Kõrvits – one of the most renowned and beloved contemporary Estonian composers – the third part of the grand musical trilogy has been completed upon the request of the EPCC. Titled “The Sound of Wings” (“Tiibade hääl”), this Estonian-language piece is dedicated to the American female pilot Amelia Earhart and composed to the texts of Doris Kareva. The premiere and recording of the new piece was performed once again in an excellent partnership between conductor Risto Joost, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir in May 2021.
