Tõnu Kaljuste to conduct Tallinn concert marking Pēteris Vasks’s 80th birthday

On Saturday, 2 May at 19:00, Tõnu Kaljuste will conduct the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra at Tallinn Methodist Church in a concert celebrating the 80th birthday of Latvia’s most internationally acclaimed composer, Pēteris Vasks.
The composer himself will be present at the concert.

In May 2025, the label Berlin Classics released the album “…Lente” featuring the music of Arvo Pärt. The video, made during the recording sessions in August 2024 at the Niguliste Museum, offers an overview of the recording process. It includes interviews with conductor Tõnu Kaljuste, sound engineer Preben Iwan, Concerto Copenhagen’s director Nikolaj de Fine Licht, and concertmaster Fredrik From.
