The catching performance takes you to the world of ancient Estonian traditions. The legends of smoke sauna are told with the means of contemporary music theatre, by well-known Estonian folk singers and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, creating an atmosphere of old times covered with mysticism.
“Smoke Sauna Symphony“, inspired by Estonian lore, the Finnish national epic “Kalevala” and Hasso Krull's “When Stones Were Still Soft“, will be performed at Mooste in Võromaa – the part of Estonia famous for its smoke sauna tradition. This ancient Estonian tradition also belongs to the UNESCO's Representative List of the Cultural Heritage of Humanity (see more at www.savvusann.ee).
Come and spend a fantastic day in this historic venue at Mooste in Southeast Estonia, experiencing and studying our ancient customs. Before the performance, you will have a possibility to take a look at the smoke sauna and visit the market place where local handicraft and food is sold.
