The performance will feature the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, and a 200-member choir, all conducted by maestro Tõnu Kaljuste. The festival will conclude with two compositions: Honegger’s oratorio “Danse des Morts” (Dance of Death) and Margo Kõlar’s “Pirita Mass”. Against the backdrop of the historic monastery ruins, the ERSO and the choir will present Honegger’s large-scale work, influenced by the tense pre-World War II atmosphere. Margo Kõlar’s mass melodies have been heard in recent years during the current monastery services. The festival performance will include M. Kõlar’s symphonic composition, in which the audience will also participate.

The concert will be approximately 1 hour long and will be performed without an intermission.
