EPCC is invited to take part in the New Year’s Eve Gala together with NDR Choir and Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra on January 1st in Wiesbaden Kurhaus, Germany. Conducts Andrés Orozco-Estrada, who became the orchestra’s chief conductor in the beginning of this season.
The programme consists of Felix Mendelssohn’s Meeresstille und glückliche Fahrt, op. 27, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Cantata for chorus and orchestra Meeresstille und glückliche Fahrt, op. 112 and Symphony No 9 d-moll, op 125. The soloist ensemble includes Christiane Karg (soprano), Gerhild Romberger (alto), Christian Elsner (tenor) and Franz-Josef Selig (bass).
The Wiesbaden Kurhaus in famous for its historic architecture, magnificent rooms and high-standard cultural events. The New Year’s Eve Gala takes place in the main Concert Hall named after the architect Friedrich von Thiersch.
