Today, on October 23, EPCC starts a tour to China to give six concerts in different cities. The tour is a part of the Baltic Music Festival (25.10-22.11), which is organised in purpose to develop Estonian music export and present music and musicians of Estonia as well as other Baltic states in one of the largest music markets in the world.

EPCC gives the first concert of the festival on October 25, in Beijing, National Library Concert Hall. The following concerts will be given in Jinan, Xuzhou, Shanghai, Foshan and the last concert will take place on November 3, in Guangzhou. The programme conducted by EPCC’s chief conductor Kaspars Putniņš includes mostly famous Estonian composers, as Arvo Pärt, Cyrillus Kreek,  Veljo Tormis, besides Claude Debussy’s music will be performed.

In addition to EPCC, other Estonian music groups will be participating at the Baltic Music Festival, altogether 20 concerts will be given. The organiser of the festival is Estonian concert organisation Eesti Kontsert in cooperation with Chinese partners China Association of Performing Arts and Shanghai City Theatre. The co-partners are Lithuanian National Philharmonia and Latvian Concert. The festival is supported by the Estonian Ministry of Culture.
