Today EPCC starts the first tour of the new season in Poland. During three days, September 6.-8, the choir will give three concerts with Arvo Pärt’s „Kanon pokajanen”under Tõnu Kaljuste at Wratislavia Cantans Festival. The venues include Wrocław University and churches in Trzebnica and Bardo.

EPCC and Tõnu Kaljuste have been specially invited to perform „Kanon pokajanen“ at many festivals and venues all over the world. Latest performances took place at Metropolitan Museum in New York and St Nicholas Church in Tallinn, the following concerts will be given in different festivals in France, in Nante and Clermont.

„Kanon pokajanen” (1997) is based on the canon of repentance, which appears in the earliest Church Slavonic manuscripts. It was commissioned for the 750th anniversary of Cologne Cathedral. The work is dedicated to Tõnu Kaljuste and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir who where its first performers in 1998. “Kanon pokajanen” is recorded by ECM in 1997.
