Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir at the Arvo Pärt Festival in Italy


 

EPCC gave their first performance on Monday at the Torino Settembre Musica Festival which is dedicated to the music of Arvo Pärt. Tõnu Kaljuste conducted Pärt’s In Principio at the Church of Torino San Filippo. EPCC and the Torino RAI orchestra recieved overwhelmingly warm and long-lasting ovations from an audience of almost 1500 listeners. Kaljuste and EPCC will give concerts of Pärt’s Te Deum with Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and the composer’s magnum opus Kanon Pokajanen. Paul Hillier will conduct Pärt’s Miserere with the EPCC and the Hilliard Ensemble. EPCC will give performances with Paul Hillier conducting also in Perugia and Milano. The new concert season will be opened on October 1st, International Day of Music in Rakvere, Estonia.
