Art music can serve as a meeting point where we come together around both our differences and our shared values. In this way, music also plays an important role in our societies and communities\u2014 nationally as well as internationally \u2014 and can make a significant contribution to social cohesion.<\/p>\n<p>Art Music Denmark is responsible for the cultural and social content of the visits when the Royal Couple undertake their state visit to Estonia and Lithuania. During both visits, Art Music Denmark is the main organiser for the networking events under the title <strong>\u201cSong &amp; Identity.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Estonia the event takes place in collaboration with the Estonian Composers\u2019 Union and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir.<\/p>\n<p>The networking event will feature a short musical introduction and a panel discussion with participants from both Denmark and the local region, exploring how song \u2014 as a cultural and political form of expression \u2014 has shaped social values and a sense of community in both Denmark and the Baltic countries. The panel discussion in <strong>Tallinn<\/strong> at <strong>Kultuurikatel <\/strong>will include <strong>Esper Linnam\u00e4gi, <\/strong>Managing Director of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir; <strong>M\u00e4rt-Matis Lill,<\/strong> Chairman of the Estonian Composers\u2019 Union; and conductor of DUVE, <strong>Poul Emborg. <\/strong>The discussion will be moderated by <strong>Ole M\u00f8lgaard.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The main organiser of the events in Tallinn and Vilnius is <strong>Art Music Denmark, <\/strong>with <strong>DUVE \u2013 The Young Vocal Ensemble <\/strong>as co-host. Estonian partners are the <strong>Estonian Composers\u2019 Union <\/strong>(ECU) and the <strong>Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir<\/strong> (EPCC). In Lithuania, the co-host is the <strong>Lithuanian Composers\u2019 Union<\/strong>. Both events are held in close collaboration with the <strong>Danish Cultural Institute <\/strong>and the Danish embassies in Estonia and Lithuania.<\/p>\n<p>Attendance is by prior registration only.
