The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir conducted by Kaspars Putni\u0146\u0161 wins the Choral category for its recording of Arvo P\u00e4rt\u2019s <em>Magnificat<\/em> and <em>Nunc dimittis<\/em> and Alfred Schnittke\u2019s <em>Psalms of Repentance<\/em>. Described by Gramophone as \u2018a truly outstanding rendition that picks up every emotional and spiritual nuance with no sacrifice of technical perfection\u2019, this recording marks the Choir\u2019s first Gramophone Award win. (BIS)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The award will be given to Kaspars Putni\u0146\u0161 at the ceremony on September 13, at the glamourous De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London\u2019s Covent Garden. The ceremony is broadcast live on medici.tv to audiences in more than 180 countries.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kaspars Putni\u0146\u0161: \u201cAlfred Schnittke\u2019s magnificent piece and both wonderful gems by Arvo P\u00e4rt are very close to my heart. I am very thankful to all the wonderful singers of the EPCC who took part in the performance for they were fantastic, brave, sensitive and enthusiastic\u00a0 companions on the journey into the vast space and depth of the music.
