About the USA-Canada tour in 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n

In February 2024, the Grammy-award winning Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir (EPCC) together with conductor T\u00f5nu Kaljuste, embarked after a five-year hiatus, on a long-awaited concert tour to the United States and Canada, where they gave four concerts featuring the works of Giovanni Pierluigi da<\/strong> Palestrina<\/strong> and Arvo P\u00e4rt<\/strong>, who has been chosen for several years as the most performed living composer in the world.<\/p>\n

The EPCC concerts went for the full houses and took place February 1 \u2013 8, 2024, at St. Ignatius Loyola Church in New York<\/strong> (Feb 1st), St. Paul’s Basilica in Toronto<\/strong> (Feb 3rd), St. John’s Episcopal Church in Georgetown – Washington, DC<\/strong> (Feb 6th), and the Episcopal Cathedral in Philadelphia<\/strong> (Feb 8th).<\/p>\n

According to Esper Linnam\u00e4gi<\/strong>, the managing director of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, the choir has a well-established market in the US. “Estonian music and musicians have always been awaited by the audience there, and after the pause caused by Covid, we were pleased to restore the continuity of tours. This concert tour was supported by the Estonian American National Council (EANC\/ERK\u00dc) and was very successful despite the five-years brake,” says Linnam\u00e4gi.<\/p>\n

The Estonian American National<\/strong> Council<\/strong> (EANC), the EPCC’s concert tour partner and supporter, was established in New York in 1952 as the voice of the Estonian American community, to unite Estonians living in the United States and to support the restoration of Estonia’s independence.
