Mikk Üleoja received the annual reward of Cultural Endowment of Estonia


 


In 15 January Cultural Endowment of Estonia gave rewards for the outstanding activities in the year 2007 in the eight cultural fields. Mikk Üleoja, the chorus-master of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, received an award for recording the music by the Estonian composer Mart Saar. The CD was released in April 2007 and it includes the best pieces by Mart Saar performed by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, conducted by Mikk Üleoja.


 


Mikk Üleoja has worked as chorus-master of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir since 1998, he has conducted the choir also at the concerts often focusing on the programmes of choral music. He is also a member of the Gregorian ensemble Vox Clamantis and the chief conductor of Tallinn Kaarli Church Concert Choir.
