The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir opens its 26th season on Wednesday, August 23 in Haapsalu Dome church, Estonia. The season 2006/2007 starts with the Mass in E minor by Anton Bruckner under the direction of Paul Hillier and in co-operation with the Swedish Wind Ensemble. On Thursday the same programme will be performed in Kuressaare, on Friday and Saturday in Tallinn.


The season 2006/2007 of the EPCC will include performances at the Wratislavia Cantans Festival in Poland (with Paul Hillier), Lux Musicae in Finland (under the direction of the chorus-master of the EPCC Mikk Üleoja), Culturescapes in Switzerland and Bergen Festival in Norway (both with Paul Hillier), Saarbrücken Musikfest (with Paul Hillier and Tõnu Kaljuste) and other festivals in several countries. In May 2007 the EPCC and Paul Hillier will perform at a longer tour in the UK. The season will also include performances of Bach’s St. Matthew’s Passion (with Paul Hillier) and Requiem by Brahms (conductor Roland Böer).


In October the new series under the title “Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir in Niguliste Church” will be opened with the programme conducted by Kaspars Putninš. The series will continue with performances of “Kanon Pokajanen” by Arvo Pärt (with Tõnu Kaljuste), an evening with Estonian composer Toivo Tulev and the programme “St. Nicholas” (both with Paul Hillier).


 In September there will be released new CD “Arvo Pärt. Da pacem” produced by harmonia mundi.
